The division-leading Austin Aztex U23s (4-1-1) return home to host the El Paso Patriots (2-2-2) in their 4th home game and 7th game of the season on Friday, June 6 at 7:30 PM.
El Paso comes to Dragon Stadium following a 2-1 loss to the Houston Leones last weekend at Houston’s Soccer World Center. Midfielder Jeffrey Jennings was the lone scorer for the Patriots in that game, with an assist by defender Jamie Cunningham.

The Aztex didn’t fare any better last weekend in Clinton MS, losing their first-ever game when they went down 2-0 to the Mississippi Brilla.
Friday night’s game will be the first of two weekend games for both teams. They both head to Dallas afterward to continue the weekend’s schedule. El Paso will play the DFW Tornados on Saturday, and Austin will play them on Sunday night. Close on the heels of the busy weekend, the Aztex return to Dragon Stadium next Tuesday, June 10, for their first-round U.S. Open Cup match against the USL-1’s Atlanta Silverbacks.
The first 200 people through the gates Friday night will receive a free noisemaker — a small horn or a soccer ball noisemaker stick.
Also starting this game, the Austin Aztex will be collecting new and gently used soccer equipment as a part of the US Soccer Foundation’s Passback Program. Under this program, the Aztex will collect gently used soccer equipment and donate it to Austin area soccer organizations in need of additional gear. Collections for Passback will be held at every Aztex home game through July 6.
